The process starts by studying the area where the park will be and getting a solid understanding of the project goals. This means analyzing the terrain, infrastructure, and climate, plus working closely with the local community and riders to understand their needs and expectations.1 -

The XSA team creates a number of project options, incorporating best practices and the latest trends in skatepark construction. We put special focus on balancing functionality with safety—designing the park so riders of all skill levels can enjoy it comfortably. After discussing, we settle on the option that best meets the project’s goals and requirements.2 -
On-site work begins
Construction starts with marking out the site, factoring in existing and new infrastructure like lighting and drainage, preparing the base with inert materials, setting elevations, and doing landscaping to meet project specs. Once the engineering work is done, builders move to the shaping stage—sculpting features using soil and reinforcing complex shapes. For pouring vertical and sloped surfaces, we use shotcrete, which applies concrete under pressure.3 -
Finishing touches
Leveling the riding surface has to be done while pouring, so the concrete reaches the right smoothness before it fully sets. This is the most challenging and time-intensive step, where the builders' skill and dedication determine if the skatepark turns out perfect or if whole sections end up unusable. After this, builders move on to final steps, like landscaping and adding finishing details (including small architectural forms), if the park design includes them.4
